The History Of Scooby Doo
It was the era of the early 1970 or rather 1969 when the Scooby Doo had its first aired broadcast. It was Fred Silverman who heads the programming of CBS at that time and was the one who lead CBS to air the first episode of Scooby Doo.
Talking about the other programs that were successfully running at that time, they were majorly animated and all of them talked about a super hero who did all sorts of adventure and rescuing jobs. It was always action and that too by a super human that prevail the television sea then. But Fred Silverman had intensions which were quite different that the usual. He wanted to do away with all the super hero hypocrisy and come out with something rather enjoyable and relaxing. With such dreams, Fred Silverman along with his team mates Hanna- Barbara, Ken Spears and Joe Ruby who designed up the characters and story plots for the Scooby Doo series.
The original story that was established for the series was mysterious and related four teenagers who were detectives and went their way across the globe in a van which was famously referred to as the Mystery Machine. The series depicted the four teenage detectives solving out cases and situations among many dangers and nail biting environments. It was later that the character of a dog i.e. Scooby was added to the group of four as the best friend of Shaggy, Velma and the other members of the detective gang. The series continued to have the original four detectives and now Scooby to unfold the world mysteries.
Then cane the year 1972 which was the turning point for the entire series of Scooby Doo. Its popularity reached high on the television charts. The persons that now acclaimed to be a part of the series were among the famous persons like Phyllis Diller, Tim Conway, Jonathan Winters, and Don Knott that were now the Scooby Doo character voices. The story too improved as the stars involved in it and over all the series went competitively up the television chart ladder.
The remaining scope of the Scooby Doo popularity was well being seen with the demand of its merchandise. The famous concept of Scooby Doo party theme came into being which had everything from plates, napkins to cups having Scooby Doo figure on it. It also included many other inflatable, solid Scooby Doo figures and other things to set up the party atmosphere.
Rewarding as it may sound, Scooby Doo has been able to reach up to the hearts of every kid of the world and indeed enjoy being their still. Among the cartoon characters, Scooby Doo shares one of the top most votes and is much loved and adored by children and cartoon lovers.
